On July 30th. Solveig Marie Ødegård became the worlds first 100% electric driver, meaning that she have never driven a fossile fueled car by taking all of her driving lessons in a Nissan Leaf, and then buying one after passing her exame.

Norway has one of the most comprehensive driving school test that exist in the world. All students must learn first aid, driving lessons on ice tracks, and day-long trips on country roads among other things to learn all that is to learn about driving. Thanks to EV Union partner; ABC Traffic school students can now learn all of this in a clean, sustainable way. CEO of ABC Trafikkskole, Lise Skauge tells us that its the best thing she have ever done as a driving teacher, pointing out that her working environment, the car, is now quiet and less stressful for her and her students, creating a better learning environment. The state authorizes sensors have also taken to like the EV as well.

President of the EV Union, Rune Haaland says this is a major milestone in EV adoption by the general public noting that “when your first experience in driving a car is electric, a combustion car must seem very old fashioned, when your first car is electric you become free of any culturally misconceptions of what a car should be. You become an EV Native and Solveig the first of thousands to come”
